Welcome to Playa Vista

Homes for Sale in Playa Vista

Located on Los Angeles' Westside, situated between Marina del Rey and the Westchester Bluffs, Playa Vista is a master-planned urban mixed-use community that's emerged as one of the area's most desirable places to call home. The neighborhood sits on land once occupied by Howard Hughes' aircraft company and the construction site of the famous "Spruce Goose." Today, the area contains luxury and affordable housing, retail, offices, and acres of beautiful green space. Part of the Silicon Beach tech hub, Playa Vista is a unique and diverse neighborhood.

Living in Playa Vista

After decades of legal wrangling, the development of Playa Vista began in 2000, with the first residents moving in two years later. By 2012, the highly-rated Playa Vista Elementary School had opened its doors, along with several parks, a library, and some retail. Phase two gained approval in 2010 and included a highly ambitious 114-acre commercial district, The Campus at Playa Vista.

Today, the community offers a unique urban lifestyle unmatched in similar mixed-use developments. Much of the community's land has been transformed into gorgeous parks, and many residents can go about their daily lives without using a car. Major tech companies have opened offices in Playa Vista, including Facebook, Alphabet, and Microsoft, putting the neighborhood firmly on the map and attracting residents worldwide.

Playa Vista's success is, perhaps, best exemplified by Runway, a thriving and bustling shopping center in the heart of the community. There's an eclectic collection of boutiques and service businesses, including fitness centers and a climbing gym. Not only that, but Runway is also home to a cutting-edge movie theater showing all the latest theatrical releases. Residents can choose from a wide selection of dining options. As far as nightlife goes, the scene in Playa Vista is relaxed and low-key. There are a few late-night options, including a brewpub and a few cocktail bars.

Playa Vista is a short drive from the Westside's fantastic beaches, and many residents make their way to the shore on weekends or summer evenings. Closer to home, 29 pocket parks are dotted throughout the neighborhood, each with its unique design and vibe. Residents don't have to travel far to find top-class sports facilities, trails, picnic areas, and plenty of dog-friendly spaces for local pups.

Another Playa Vista highlight is The Resort - an enormous activity club constructed from glass and steel. There are both indoor and outdoor areas here, and amenities include an Olympic swimming pool, relaxing spa, cabanas, catering kitchen, and atmospheric firepit area.

With such a pronounced emphasis on nurturing a sense of community, it's little surprise that neighborhood events and celebrations are held throughout the year. Concert Park is the focal point for community events and hosts free summer concerts, food truck nights, and loads of other fun events, including yoga workshops, craft nights, and surprise pop-ups.
