The Oaks Neighborhood

The Oaks neighborhood (a.k.a. Los Feliz Oaks) sits between Beachwood Canyon and Los Feliz Estates. While often called "Los Feliz Oaks," technically the neighborhood is not within the boundaries of Los Feliz. It is capped on the north end by the Bronson Canyon section of Griffith Park and Los Feliz Boulevard to the south. Valley Oak Drive, a small but very exclusive gated community, is located within The Oaks neighborhood.

The Oaks offers a verdant, quiet sanctuary just outside the reach of the hurried life of Los Angeles. Yet, residents enjoy the close proximity of a wide range of amenities in nearby Franklin Village, Thai Town, Hollywood, and Los Feliz. Franklin Village has a small retail strip packed with cozy restaurants, boutiques, and the ever-popular comedy venue, Upright Citizens Brigade (UBC Theatre).

Locals love the quick and easy access to Griffith Park. The Brush Canyon Trailhead, a popular entrance to the park, sits at the terminus of Canyon Drive. Here you will also find a children’s playground, picnic tables, and plenty of free parking. The area gets busy on weekends and holidays. Ferndell abuts The Oaks to the east and is another popular entrance to the park.
